Anzia: The Galactic Savior of Mono-Blue... Or Just Another Cleric?

Overview

Anzia arrived in January 2023 as part of the Super Elemental family (Ice), bringing a kit that screams "I love my blue friends and I ignore everyone else." She’s a 5-star Legendary Ice hero who functions primarily as a defensive support tank or flank. Her gimmick is simple: punish the enemy for hitting you, and reward your Ice allies for doing... well, nothing much other than existing.

If you're thinking, "Wait, isn't there a 4-star named Azmia who does something similar?" β€” yes, you are not crazy. We’ll get to that.

Hero Art & Visuals

Let's talk about the look. Anzia is rocking a "Space Nun Warrior" aesthetic that is surprisingly cool. She’s titled the "Galactic Savior" in the game files, which sounds like she should be piloting a starship rather than standing in a match-3 puzzle board. She wields a glowing blue staff and wears a habit that says, "I'm pious, but I can also bench press a titan."

It’s a very clean, mystic design. The community has noted she looks a bit like a "good girl gone bad" or perhaps a character straight out of Warrior Nun. She definitely brings a sci-fi fantasy vibe that stands out from the usual medieval armor we see.

General Info

Hero data missing

Hero Stats

Let’s be brutally honest: by late 2025 standards, Anzia’s stats are showing their age. Her base power sits at 901, while modern heroes are launching with base power in the 1260+ range.

  • Attack (821): Low. She isn't here to deal direct damage.
  • Defense (840): Decent for her time, but now easily eclipsed by modern attackers who have attack stats higher than her defense.
  • Health (1816): This was her standout stat in 2023. It’s still respectable, but no longer a "wow" factor when new heroes walk in with 2200+ HP out of the box.

She needs Limit Breaks and emblems just to survive a sneeze from a modern sniper like Turundh or Adelitza.

Special Skill: Radiant Comeback

Analysis: This skill is a roller coaster of "That's amazing!" followed by "Wait, really?".

  1. The Good: It’s a Counterattack for ALL allies. Most counterattackers (like Cyprian, Boril, Azmia) only cover themselves and neighbors. Covering the whole team is fantastic for maximizing punishment against AoE hitters.
  2. The Great: The damage scales. It starts at 75% (low) but can skyrocket to 159% if you have a board full of Ice shields. If you catch a good board, enemies will essentially one-shot themselves.
  3. The Bad (The "Niche" Part): The mana generation is restricted to Ice allies ONLY. If you run her in a rainbow team, your non-blue heroes get the riposte but zero mana benefit. This forces her into a very specific box: Mono-Blue or heavy Blue stacks.

By the Numbers

Let's crunch the data on Radiant Comeback:

  • Mana Speed: Average. With her Super Elemental family bonus (generating Power Gems), you can't rely on mana troops alone to speed her up significantly in the same way, but 20% mana boost from troops allows her to fire in 9 tiles.
  • Counterattack Potential:
    • Floor: 75% damage return (0 Ice shields). This is weaker than a standard uncostumed Boril.
    • Ceiling: 159% damage return (12 Ice shields). This is devastating.
    • Realistic Average: You'll usually have 3-5 shields on the board when you fire, putting her around 96% - 110% counterattack. This is competitive.
  • Mana Generation: "Moderate amount" usually equates to roughly 0.8 tiles of mana per hit received. In a busy turn where an ally gets hit by a multi-hit special, this can fully charge them. However, remember the diminishing returns clauseβ€”you can't infinite-loop mana in a single turn.

Family Bonus, Passives, Aether Power & Unique Abilities

The Super Elemental family is weird. It tries to help you, but sometimes it just messes up your board.

Family Bonus

Analysis: Ice shields turn into Power Gems. They deal 20 damage to a random enemy each turn.

  • Pros: Constant chip damage.
  • Cons: It's barely a tickle. 20 damage is negligible when enemies have 3000 HP. The real value is simply having the gems exist for match mechanics, but honestly, this bonus is one of the weaker ones in the game.

Passives

Analysis:Troop Mastery is the real winner here.

  • Offense: +100% elemental damage with troops against Fire enemies. If you bring Anzia in a mono-blue stack against a Red Tank, her tile damage is monstrous. This effectively doubles her tile contribution against weak elements.
  • Defense: Taking 10% less damage from Nature troops is a nice little survival bonus, but won't save her from a special skill.

Aether Power

Analysis:Damage Reduction is a solid choice for a tank/support hero. It helps her stay alive long enough to fire her skill. Since she has no self-heal or innate defense buff (other than the counterattack threat), she needs every bit of mitigation she can get.

Legacy & Modern Relevance

  • Historical Context: When Anzia released, players were torn. Some saw the 159% counterattack as broken; others saw the "Ice Only" mana gen as a fatal flaw. She was often compared unfavorably to Azmia (the 4-star healer/counterattacker), who heals everyone.
  • Power Creep Analysis: The game has moved toward speed and massive upfront damage. Average speed heroes who don't heal or kill immediately are hard to justify.
  • Modern Viability:
    • PvP Defense: Low. She is too passive. Attackers can bring a dispel or just ignore her until they have a dispeller charged.
    • PvP Offense: Medium (Niche). In a Mono-Blue team against heavy AoE defenses, she can still work wonders. The mana gain can charge your heavy hitters (like Sobek or Thorne) surprisingly fast.
    • Titans: High. Her passive (+100% Troop Damage) makes her a tile-damage beast against Red Titans, even if her special skill is defensive.

Costume & Costume Bonus

As of this review, Anzia does not have a costume. She is relying entirely on her base form, which makes her stats significantly lower than Costumed heroes from the same era.

Emblem Path Analysis

Anzia is a Cleric. This is actually a great class for her, as Manashield gives her a chance to resist mana-stop ailments (like from Proteus or Hel), ensuring she can fire her buffs.

  • Path: Defense > Health > Attack
  • Pros: Maximizes her survival. A dead counterattacker reflects zero damage. Her high base health scales well with % nodes.
  • Cons: Her tile damage won't be as high, but her Passive compensates for that against Red enemies.

The Battle Cleric

  • Path: Attack > Defense > Health
  • Pros: Increases her tile damage for Titan hits.
  • Cons: She becomes squishy and might die before casting Radiant Comeback.

Final Recommendation

Go Defense/Health. Her primary job is to cast her buff and survive to let the enemy kill themselves on her shield.

Strengths

  • Team-Wide Reflection: One of the few heroes who gives everyone a counterattack, protecting fragile wings.
  • Mono-Blue Synergy: The mana generation for Ice allies allows for explosive turns in a blue stack.
  • Tile Damage: The passive +100% damage vs. Fire makes her hit like a truck with tiles.
  • Scaling Punishment: If you have a good board (lots of blue tiles), the 159% counterattack is lethal.

Weaknesses

  • Dispellable: Her entire kit can be wiped away by a simple Sabina or Melendor.
  • Restrictive Mana Gen: Does absolutely nothing for non-Ice allies, making her bad for rainbow teams.
  • Passive Playstyle: She relies on the enemy hitting you. If the enemy uses DoT (Damage over Time) or ailments instead of direct damage, she is useless.
  • No Healing: Unlike Azmia, Anzia doesn't heal. You must pair her with a healer.

Best Game Modes

  • Mono-Blue Raids: This is her home. Pair her with healers and hitters for a synergy engine.
  • Rush Attack (Fast Mana) Tournaments: Being Average speed hurts her, but in Rush, she becomes a nightmare if she fires early.
  • Titans: Specifically Red Titans. Her passive boosts tile damage immensely, and the counterattack protects the team from the Titan's slash attacks.

Advanced Strategy & Team Compositions

Sample Team Ideas

  1. The "Stop Hitting Yourself" Mono-Blue:
    • Kiril (C) - Anzia - Krampus - Sobek - Morel
    • Why: Kiril heals/buffs, Anzia provides mana and counter, Krampus taunts (protecting the team while they charge), and Sobek uses the extra mana to wipe the enemy.
  2. The Titan Tile Team:
    • Miki - Frida - Anzia - Cobalt - Ariel
    • Why: Anzia is there primarily for the passive tile damage boost and to keep mana flowing to the other blue heroes.

Counters & Anti-Synergies

  • Counters: Dispellers (Caedmon, Hypnos) are her worst enemy. Buff Blockers (Franz, Mist) prevent her from putting up the counterattack.
  • Anti-Synergy: Dodge Heroes (Bastet, Kadilen C). If your heroes dodge, they don't take damage, meaning they don't counterattack, and Anzia generates zero mana. Do NOT pair her with Dodge.

Advice for New Players

If you pulled Anzia early, she is a solid tank for your defense team up until Platinum arena. Her high health will keep her alive, and new players often don't know how to play around counterattack. Level her, but don't prioritize her over a solid healer or sniper.

Advice for Veterans

She is a "toy" hero. Unless you are a Mono-Blue devotee or need a specialist for the Contest of Elements, she likely won't make your main war teams. Do not use Alpha Aethers (LB2) on her unless you simply love her design; the stats return isn't worth it compared to modern monsters like Gaston or Chang'e.

Community Corner: Hot Takes & History

The community reaction to Anzia was... mixed, to say the least.

  • The Name Game: "Gosh, I wonder if anyone will ever get Anzia and Azmia mixed up... because they are both Blue counterattackers." β€” Anonymous Forum User. (Spoiler: Everyone mixes them up).
  • The "0.1%" Frustration: "It seems weird that a 0.1% 5* hero has a special that seems not really more... special... than a 4* hero's." β€” Frustrated Summoner.
  • The Verdict: Many players felt she was a "lazy design" or essentially a 5-star version of Boril with a conditional mana buff.

Final Thoughts

Anzia is a hero who suffers from being "almost great." If her mana generation applied to all allies, she would be top-tier. As it stands, she is a luxury support hero for blue stacks. She looks fantastic, has a cool name, and can ruin an opponent's day if they underestimate that 159% reflection, but she’s likely destined to guard your bench rather than the galaxy.

Verdict: Keep her for the Contest of Elements and Mythic Titans, but don't expect her to save the universe (or your War score) on her own.
