Ekanite: The Green Ninja Who Brings His Own Bodyguards

Overview

Ekanite is a 5-star Nature (Green) hero from the Ninja Tower family, released back in early 2023. He operates on the unique "Charge" mana speed mechanic, allowing him to fire at x1, x2, or x3 mana. While many Ninjas are selfish damage dealers, Ekanite plays the role of a squad leader, bringing minions to the party that grant a unique, undispellable counterattack. Think of him as the Green Liu Bei, but with a cooler mask and a penchant for hitting everyone at once.

Ekanite

Hero Art & Visuals

Ekanite sports a dynamic, action-oriented look, mid-strike with a chained weapon that looks like it could hurt both the enemy and the user if not handled carefully. The green and gold color palette fits the Nature theme perfectly, and his "shinobi" attire screams agility. He's definitely one of the more "classic ninja" designs in the game, avoiding the over-the-top high-fantasy armor for something that looks like he could actually sneak up on youβ€”or at least try to, before his chains start rattling.

Stat Analysis: Let's be realβ€”Ekanite is showing his age. With LB2 stats hovering around 1049 Attack and 990 Defense, he is significantly behind modern heroes who are pushing 1300+ Attack and Defense before Limit Breaking. His health pool of 1927 (LB2) is also dwarf by new heroes reaching 3000+ HP. While he was a beast in 2023, today he is fragile. He relies heavily on his Fighter class revive and Ninja dodge to survive long enough to do his job. You cannot rely on him to tank hits like a modern construct; he needs protection.

Charge
  • Special Skill has a different effect when charged with 100%/200%/300% mana:
  • x1 Mana Charge:
  • - Deals 200% damage to all enemies.
  • - Summons a Shinobi Minion for each ally with 8% HP and 10% attack inherited from the caster.
  • - When summoned, the Shinobi Minion gives its owner the ability to counterattack with 60% of the damage received for as long as the owner has a Shinobi Minion. The effect can't be dispelled.
  • x2 Mana Charge:
  • - Deals 280% damage to all enemies.
  • - Summons a Shinobi Minion for each ally with 16% HP and 16% attack inherited from the caster.
  • - When summoned, the Shinobi Minion gives its owner the ability to counterattack with 60% of the damage received for as long as the owner has a Shinobi Minion. The effect can't be dispelled.
  • x3 Mana Charge:
  • - Deals 360% damage to all enemies.
  • - Summons a Shinobi Minion for each ally with 22% HP and 26% attack inherited from the caster.
  • - When summoned, the Shinobi Minion gives its owner the ability to counterattack with 60% of the damage received for as long as the owner has a Shinobi Minion. The effect can't be dispelled.

Skill Analysis: Ekanite's special skill, Order Ambush, scales with his charge level, but the core mechanic remains the same: Damage to all enemies + Minions for all allies.

  • The Secret Sauce: The Shinobi Minion. These aren't just meat shields; they grant the owner a Counterattack (60%) ability. Crucially, this effect is tied to the minion. As long as the minion is alive, the hero counterattacks. This effect cannot be dispelled by standard dispellers (like Sonya or Sabina). To stop the counterattack, you must kill the minion (or use a minion remover like Grimble or Goretooth).
  • x1 Charge (5 tiles): This is his bread and butter. Hitting all enemies for 200% damage in just 5 tiles (or less with troops) is excellent for finishing off weakened teams or breaking defensive formations early. The minions are tiny (8% HP), but they immediately set up a punishment for any AoE attacker who dares to fire next.
  • x2 & x3 Charge: The damage scales up decently (280% / 360%), and the minions get beefier (16% / 22% HP). In a long fight, a x2 charge can summon minions that actually survive a hit, keeping that counterattack up longer.

By the Numbers

  • Mana Speed: Charge.
    • x1 Charge: 5 tiles. With a Level 11 Styx/Magic troop or Level 23 Mana troop (plus family bonus/emblems), this drops to 4 tiles. That is Very Fast.
    • x2 Charge: 10 tiles.
    • x3 Charge: 15 tiles.
  • Damage Potential (LB2):
    • x1 Charge: 1049 Attack x 200% = ~2098 damage value (spread across 5 enemies).
    • x3 Charge: 1049 Attack x 360% = ~3776 damage value.
    • Note: While 200% sounds low, hitting all 5 enemies at Very Fast speed is massive pressure.
  • Minion HP (LB2):
    • x1 Charge: ~154 HP. (Paper thin).
    • x2 Charge: ~308 HP.
    • x3 Charge: ~424 HP.

Family Bonus, Passives, Aether Power & Unique Abilities

Family Bonus

Family Bonus

Tower - Ninjas

  • Bonus for 1/2/3 Unique Heroes:
  • 5%/10%/15% chance to dodge normal attacks and Special Skills
  • 5%/10%/15% chance to counterattack with 60%/90%/120% of the damage received.

The Ninja Family bonus is one of the most annoying in the game.

  • Dodge: A chance to dodge everythingβ€”damage and special skills. This adds a layer of survivability that his raw stats lack.
  • Counterattack: A chance to counterattack with 60% (or more) of damage received. Yes, this stacks with his minion's counterattack, meaning an enemy could hit Ekanite and take damage from both the family bonus and the minion!

Passives

No passives found

Note: Older Ninjas like Ekanite do not have the modern "Passives" list seen on newer heroes; their power is concentrated in the Family Bonus and Charge mechanic.

Aether Power

Attack Up
Aether Power

Attack Up

At the start of each battle, this Hero gets 20% attack for 6 turns

In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Attack Up: At Level 85+, Ekanite gets a raw attack boost for the first 6 turns. This synergizes perfectly with his playstyle. You want to fire his x1 Charge as early as possible. The boosted attack ensures that early hit stings, and it also slightly increases the HP of his minions (since minion HP is based on his max HP, but minion attacks are based on his Attack).

Legacy & Modern Relevance

  • Historical Context: When released, Ekanite was a top-tier threat. A "Green Liu Bei" who hit everyone was a game-changer. He was a staple in defenses because he could punish bad boards instantly.
  • Power Creep: The stat gap is undeniable. Modern heroes hit harder, have 2-3 passives, and double the stats. However, the mechanic of an undispellable counterattack tied to a minion is still relatively rare and powerful.
  • Modern Viability Verdict: Niche but Deadly. He is no longer a universal defense hero. However, on offense, he is a fantastic counter to AoE heavy teams. In Bloody Battle tournaments, he is still a monster because his minions act as pseudo-healing and damage sources. In Rush Attack, he loses his speed advantage, so he's less optimal there.

Emblem Path Analysis

Ekanite needs to stay alive to keep summoning, but he also wants high Attack to make his special skill hurt and his minions hit harder.

  • Path: Defense > Health > Attack
  • Pros: Maximizes his low survival stats. Increases Minion HP (since it's % of his Max HP). Keeps him alive long enough to dodge or revive.
  • Cons: His x1 charge hits like a wet noodle against modern tanks.
  • Path: Attack > Health > Defense
  • Pros: Makes his x1 Charge actually dangerous. Increases Minion tap damage. Capitalizes on his role as an offensive pressure tool.
  • Cons: He might die to a stiff breeze before firing.

Final Recommendation

For most players today, the Attack > Health path is recommended. You aren't bringing Ekanite to tank hits; you're bringing him to flip the tempo with a fast AoE hit and counterattack. If he dies, hopefully, his Fighter talent brings him back.

Strengths

  • Versatility: Can fire early (5 tiles) to finish/disrupt or save for a big hit.
  • Undispellable Counterattack: As long as the minion lives, the hero reflects damage. This forces enemies to waste attacks on minions or kill themselves attacking.
  • Minion Shield: Even tiny minions absorb at least one hit, effectively blocking damage overflow from snipers.
  • Family Synergy: Dodge + Fighter Revive = The "Zombie Ninja" effect where he just won't stay dead.

Weaknesses

  • Paper Minions: At x1 charge, 8% HP minions die to a sneeze. Minion removers (Grimble, Ogima, Lunar heroes) delete his entire utility instantly.
  • Outdated Stats: He takes massive damage from modern heroes.
  • Minion Dependency: If he can't summon (due to ailments or minion blockers like Bera/Kvasir), he loses 50% of his kit.

Best Game Modes

  • Bloody Battle Tournaments: MVP candidate. Minions provide "health" when healing is blocked, and counterattack punishes enemies who can't heal themselves.
  • War Offense: Great for cleaning up teams or countering AoE defenses (like Khufu or Quintin).
  • Farming: x1 Charge makes him a very fast wave clearer for map stages.

Advanced Strategy & Team Compositions

Synergy: The Minion Beef-Up

Pair Ekanite with heroes who buff minions or boost health.

  • Arco / Relius / Hathor: These heroes can boost health or provide beefier minions, protecting Ekanite's fragile Shinobi minions behind a wall of HP.
  • Costume Freya / Bera: Fast minion summoners can create a "meat wall" that makes it harder for enemies to target Ekanite's specific counterattack minions.

Team Idea: The "Stop Hitting Yourself" Wall

  • Lineup: Arco - Ekanite - Queen Guowang - Ogima - Bastet
  • Why: Arco provides overheal and stoneskin. Ekanite provides counterattack minions. Queen Guowang punishes enemies for using specials. Ogima clears enemy minions. It's a team designed to make the enemy regret pressing any buttons.

Counters

  • Minion Removers: Grimble, Goretooth, Ogima, Captain of Diamonds. They remove the minion before dealing damage, bypassing the counterattack and removing the buff.
  • Minion Blockers: Bera, Kvasir, Ulius. If Ekanite can't summon, he's just a mediocre AoE hitter.
  • Buff Dispellers: Note that standard dispellers do not work on his counterattack, but Fortuna has been known to dispel it in the past (possibly a bug or interaction with removing the minion).

Advice for New Players

If you pulled Ekanite early, celebrate! He is a fantastic carry hero. He hits everyone, protects your team with minions, and is fast. Focus on his x1 charge to clear story mode waves quickly. Don't worry about his stats; for early/mid-game, he is a god.

Advice for Veterans

Ekanite is a luxury tool. He's not your main war defense hero anymore. Use him in your 3rd or 4th war attack team against setups that lack minion control. He is especially fun against "Hit All" defenses (like those running Khufu or Jove), as you can pop his x1 charge and watch the enemy team suicide on your counterattack. Do not LB2 him unless you absolutely love Ninjas or have no modern Green projects.

Community Corner: Hot Takes & History

  • "He is an absolute beast! Seconds ago fully emblemed him. That minion counterattack is making attackers die so easy." - A happy player from release week.
  • "I think he’s easily the most forgettable ninja. Don’t think anyone has talked much about him even in his debut" - The duality of man.
  • "It's a bug for sure… It has to reflect the damage but not a theorical damage without stone skin" - Players debating his interaction with Arco's stoneskin (Yes, he reflects full damage even if he takes 1 damage!).

Final Thoughts

Ekanite is like that one cool uncle who still thinks he can breakdance. He’s got the moves (Charge speed, Counterattack), and sometimes he pulls it off beautifully, but other times he throws his back out (dies to one hit). He remains a unique tactical asset for your roster, capable of turning an enemy's strength against them. If you can keep his minions alive, he's a thorn in the side of any team. Just don't expect him to stand toe-to-toe with the gods of 2026 without some serious backup.

Verdict: A solid B+ for offense and tournaments, but a C for modern defense. Keep him for the fun factor.
