Talésie, The Sanguine Assassin: Blood, Bleed, and Bat-Like Fury

Overview

Talésie is a 4-star Epic hero from the Sanguine Feast event, introduced in late 2025. As a Dark (Purple) Rogue, he fits into the fast-paced, high-damage archetype, but with a significant twist tied to his family mechanic. He isn't your standard sniper; he is a conditional mass murderer. If you like heroes that require a bit of setup for a massive payoff, Talésie might just be your new favorite toy. If you prefer point-and-click simplicity, well, he might drive you batty.

Talesie

Hero Art & Visuals

Talésie sports a distinctively vampiric, bat-humanoid aesthetic. With large ears, a hooded cowl, and a jagged dagger glowing with ominous energy, he looks like he stumbled out of a gothic horror novel—or perhaps a heavy metal album cover. The color palette is a mix of deep purples and spectral cyans, fitting his Dark element perfectly. Unlike the noble knights or savage barbarians, Talésie looks like the creature that watches you from the gargoyles before swooping down. It's a design that screams "I'm going to bite you," which is fair warning, really.

Talésie enters the arena with very modern stats for a 4-star hero. With an attack stat hovering near 800 un-emblemed (and pushing significantly higher with emblems and Limit Breaks), he is built to hurt. His defense and health are respectable, ensuring he isn't made of wet tissue paper, but his primary stat distribution clearly favors offense. Compared to classic 4-stars or even those from a year or two ago, Talésie is a statistical powerhouse. He stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of the Toon costumes and recent Construct heroes in terms of raw power.

Tile Breakpoints Guide
8Base Tiles
15% Bonus

Analysis: Ravening Blade is a skill of two halves.

  1. The Primary Hit: Deals 220% damage to a single target at Fast speed. On its own, this is underwhelming. Standard 4-star snipers usually hit for 300-400%. If this was all he did, he'd be food.
  2. The Conditional AoE: Deals 180% damage AND 189 Bleed damage over 3 turns to all enemies marked with a Blood Lily.

This is where the magic happens. The Blood Lily is applied automatically by his Family Bonus (and other family members). This means his special skill scales drastically as the battle progresses and more enemies get marked. He transforms from a weak sniper into a Fast mana AoE nuker who also applies a DoT. The synergy is internal, but it requires time or teammates to fully ramp up.

By the Numbers

  • Mana Speed: Fast. He needs 8 tiles to charge, or 7 with a level 17 mana troop (or other bonuses). This allows him to fire frequently, which is essential for applying pressure.
  • Damage Potential:
    • Base Hit: ~220% to one target.
    • Conditional Hit: ~180% to X targets.
    • Bleed: 63 damage per turn for 3 turns (189 total) per marked enemy.
    • If 3 enemies are marked, his total damage output jumps from a measly 220% single target to 220% (target) + (180% x 3) + (189 x 3 bleed). That is a massive swing in total damage output.
  • Passive Boost: Don't forget the Sanguine Mark passive. Damage is increased by 5% per Blood Lily stack. If a target has 5 stacks, he deals 25% more damage to them.

Family Bonus, Passives, Aether Power & Unique Abilities

The Fleur de Sang family brings a mechanic that defines Talésie's existence.

Family Bonus

Monthly Event - Fleur de Sang
Family Bonus

Monthly Event - Fleur de Sang

  • At the start of each turn, each Fleur de Sang character marks the enemy with highest remaining HP with Blood Lily.
  • Blood Lily, Stack (Max: 10): The target receive 4/6/10 damage per turn. The Fleur de Sang characters on the opposing team gain the amount of damage dealt as health, divided equally between them.
  • The members of this family have additional perks in the Halloween event.

Analysis: At the start of each turn, the character marks the enemy with the highest HP. This is automatic. This means even if you run Talésie alone, he will start marking targets. By the time you charge him (likely turn 3 or 4), there will be 3 or 4 marks distributed among the enemy team (or stacked on one). This stack deals damage over time and heals the Fleur de Sang family. It is the engine that powers his special skill.

Passives

Passive Icon
Inherent Abilities

Passive Skills

  • Sanguine Mark
All damage from normal attacks and Special Skill dealt by this character is increased by 5% per Blood Lily stack on target.

Analysis: This is a nice damage multiplier. Since the Blood Lily stacks (up to 10), this passive ensures that as the fight drags on, Talésie hits harder and harder against the most resilient enemies.

Aether Power

Attack Up
Aether Power

Attack Up

At the start of each battle, this Hero gets 20% attack for 6 turns

In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Analysis: Attack Up is the perfect Aether Power for him. It boosts his base attack for the first 6 turns, which synergizes with his Fast mana speed, allowing his first strike (even if only one or two enemies are marked) to sting significantly more.

Legacy & Modern Relevance

  • Historical Context: Talésie is part of the "Sanguine Feast" wave, introducing the Blood Lily mechanic. He represents a shift towards heroes that create their own win conditions over time rather than just upfront burst.
  • Power Creep Analysis: His stats are top-tier for 4-stars. While his 220% primary snippet is low, the mechanic reflects modern design: complex conditions for high rewards. He is stat-heavy enough to survive in the current 4-star meta.
  • Modern Viability Verdict: Viable. In 4-star tournaments (especially Bloody Battle and Rush), he is a menace. In 5-star wars, he might struggle unless heavily protected, but his unique mechanic allows him to punch above his weight class if the battle goes long.

Emblem Path Analysis

As a Rogue, Talésie has access to the Evade talent, which is arguably the best defensive talent in the game. However, his role is damage.

The Assassin (Attack Path)

  • Path: Attack > Defense > Health
  • Pros: Maximizes the damage of his special skill and the Bleed DoT. Rogue nodes often have high attack values.
  • Cons: Slightly squishier, relying on Evade to survive.

The Survivor (Defense Path)

  • Path: Defense > Health > Attack
  • Pros: Keeps him alive longer to let the Blood Lily stacks accumulate.
  • Cons: His 220% hit becomes even softer.

Final Recommendation

For most players, the Attack Path is recommended. Talésie is a damage dealer. His primary utility is killing things before they kill you. The Rogue evade chance handles the survival aspect well enough; you want that special skill to hit as hard as possible when it triggers on marked enemies.

Strengths

  • Scaling Threat: He becomes more dangerous the longer the match lasts.
  • Fast Mana: Can fire repeatedly, capitalizing on new marks.
  • Automatic Setup: The Family Bonus applies the marks automatically; he doesn't need to hit them first to mark them.
  • Rogue Class: That dodge chance can win games.

Weaknesses

  • Dependent on Marks: Without Blood Lily marks, he is a very weak sniper (220% is laughable in the modern meta).
  • RNG Factor: You can't control who gets marked (it's always highest HP), so you can't easily target a specific threat for the extra damage unless you manipulate HP bars carefully.
  • Dispels/Cleanses: If the enemy can cleanse or block the marks (though marks are usually stacks, which are harder to remove), his effectiveness drops. Note: Blood Lily is a Stack, so standard cleanse does not remove it.

Best Game Modes

  • Bloody Battle Tournaments: The DoT and fast damage are king here. The healing from the family bonus (stealing health) is also a cheeky way to get health in a mode with no healing.
  • Rush Attack: He becomes Very Fast, and the marks accumulate every turn regardless. He can spam his special.
  • PvE/Events: Great for boss waves where the boss has high HP and accumulates stacks, taking massive damage.

Advanced Strategy & Team Compositions

The key to Talésie is patience and family synergy.

Sample Team Ideas

  1. The Sanguine Swarm (4-Star Tourney):
    • Talésie - Costumed Sabina - Talésie - <Healer/Tank> - Talésie
    • Running multiple Talésies (or pairing with the 3-star Eumachius if allowed/viable) accelerates the application of marks. With three family members, three enemies get marked every turn. By turn 3, almost the entire enemy team is marked, turning every Talésie fire into a full AoE wipe.
  2. The Bleed Out (DoT Stack):
    • Talésie - Proteus - Tiburtus (C) - Talésie - Rigard
    • Control the mana with Proteus, lower defense with Tiburtus, and let Talésie clean up with direct damage and bleed on the marked targets.

Counters & Anti-Synergies

  • Minion Spammers: Can sometimes absorb the damage meant for heroes.
  • Stack Blockers: Very rare, but heroes that prevent status effects or stacks specifically would neuter him.
  • Fast Snipers: Since he relies on turns passing to apply marks, a team that kills him in 2 turns prevents him from ramping up.

Advice for New Players

Talésie is a fantastic pull. He hits hard, survives with Rogue talent, and offers a fun mechanic. Focus on leveling him and look for other Sanguine heroes to pair him with, even the 3-star Yumakius, to boost the mark generation.

Advice for Veterans

He is a staple for 4-star tournaments. If you care about performing well in weekly tourneys, he is worth the limit break. In 5-star warfare, he is likely too slow to ramp up compared to the devastating 5-star heroes available, but he is a fun toy for clean-up teams.

Community Corner: Hot Takes & History

The community reaction to the Sanguine heroes has been mixed regarding the mechanics.

  • "This is really forcing players to either dig deep for a complete set or skip entirely. These are not synergies, this is one hero broken into two pieces." - A beta tester's concern about the reliance on the Blood Lily mark.
  • "I would definitely level Tassie up... looks really cool, like a bat humanoid thing." - A content creator's first impression.
  • Many players find the names "tongue twisters," with Talésie being one of the easier ones to pronounce compared to his 5-star cousins.

Final Thoughts

Talésie is a "slow burn" hero running at "fast" mana speed. It's a contradiction that works surprisingly well. He rewards you for surviving the first few turns by granting you the power to unleash devastating AoE attacks later in the match. While he relies heavily on his family mechanic to shine, the fact that the mechanic is automatic (start of turn) makes him user-friendly. He isn't just a bat out of hell; he's the bat that brings the hell with him.

Verdict: A top-tier contender for 4-star tournaments and a must-level for anyone lucky enough to pull him.
