Whacker, The Wacky Walloper: Glass Cannon with a Nasty Hammer
Overview
Whacker is a Rare (3-star) Nature hero from the Starfall Circus family. Released back in the days when clowns were just regular scary and not "Starfall" scary, he carved out a niche as a high-damage sniper. He doesn't have a costume, so what you see is what you get: a goblin with a mallet and a dream.
He is a classic "Glass Cannon"βhe hits hard but crumbles if you look at him wrong. In the current era of 3-star tournaments, he faces stiff competition from modern heroes with bloated stats, but his unique mechanics might just save his spot on your roster.

Hero Art & Visuals
Let's be honest, Whacker looks like he just escaped from a twisted version of a children's birthday party. Heβs got that manic "I'm going to hit you with this oversized wooden mallet" energy. The design perfectly captures the Starfall Circus aesthetic: colorful, chaotic, and slightly unsettling. Itβs a great visual representation of his playstyleβwild, aggressive, and likely to leave a mark.

Hero Stats
Base Stats (No Emblems)
| Level | Attack | Defense | Health | πͺPower |
|---|---|---|---|---|
3/50 | 554 | 406 | 747 | 477 |
3/55lb1 | 628 | 460 | 847 | 532 |
3/60lb2 | 776 | 569 | 1046 | 642 |
When Whacker was released, his 554 Attack was considered "massive" for a 3-star hero. In 2026, it's still respectable but no longer top-tier. Modern 3-star attackers like Rudolph C1 (648 Attack) or Valen Glass (559 Attack) have pushed the ceiling higher.
His durability, however, has aged like milk. With a base Defense of 406 and Health of 747, he is extremely fragile compared to modern standards where 3-stars regularly push 500+ Defense and 1000+ Health. He needs protection, or he needs to kill his target before they can hit back.
Special Skill: Nasty Hammer

Nasty Hammer
- Deals 315% damage to the target.
- The enemy with the highest base attack gets -54% attack for 3 turns.
Nasty Hammer is a deceptively simple skill with a strategic twist.
- The Whack: 315% damage at Fast speed is solid sniping. Itβs enough to threaten most 3-star enemies, especially blues.
- The Debuff: The -54% attack down is massive. Most attack debuffs are in the -34% range. This neuters an enemy completely.
- The Twist: The debuff automatically targets the enemy with the highest base attack. This is both a blessing and a curse. You don't get to choose who gets the debuffβthe game chooses for you. Usually, this means the enemy's biggest threat gets shut down, which is great. But if the biggest threat is a passive tank or a healer with weirdly high attack, it might be wasted.
By the Numbers
- Mana Speed: Fast (8 tiles). With a Lv. 17 Mana Troop (unlikely in 3-star tournaments) or a Lv. 11 Styx/Magic troop (if allowed), he becomes very fast. In Rush Attack, he's a 6.5 tile nightmare.
- Damage Potential: 554 Attack x 315% = 1745 raw damage value. For comparison, a modern 3-star with 600 attack doing 300% deals 1800. Whacker is slightly behind the curve but close enough to matter.
- Debuff Impact: -54% Attack means an enemy doing 200 damage will now do roughly 92 damage. That is a survival-enabling difference.
Family Bonus, Passives, Aether Power & Unique Abilities
Family Bonus

Challenge Festival II - Starfall
- Bonus for 1/2/3 Heroes:
- 50%/75%/100% chance to cleanse the Hero's most recent cleansable status ailment at the end of each turn.
- The members of this family have additional perks in the Challenge Festival events.
The Starfall Family Bonus is incredible for 3-star tournaments, specifically Bloody Battle. In Bloody Battle, you can't heal, which usually means you can't cleanse (since most cleansers are healers). The Starfall bonus gives you a passive chance to cleanse every turn without using a special skill. Bringing Whacker with another Circus hero (like Candy) gives you a 40% chance to shake off defense down or burns automatically.
Passives
No passives found
Whacker does not have any innate passives, which is a sign of his age. Modern heroes usually come with "Resist Ailments" or "Mana on Buff" passives.
Aether Power

Dodge
At the start of each battle, this Hero gets 20% chance to dodge Special Skills that deal damage for 6 turns.
Dodge is a fantastic Aether Power for a glass cannon. Since his main weakness is dying to a stiff breeze, a chance to dodge special skills gives him just enough survivability to maybe fire his mallet one more time.
Legacy & Modern Relevance
- Historical Context: Upon release, Whacker was a 3-star terror. His attack stat was an outlier, and he was a staple in Event teams for his high tile damage.
- Power Creep Analysis: He has been power-crept in stats. 406 Defense is dangerously low. He dies to slash attacks. However, his Fast speed and -54% Attack Debuff keep him relevant. The debuff is still one of the strongest in the game percentage-wise.
- Modern Viability Verdict: Viable in specific niches. He is no longer a general-purpose 3-star. He shines in Buff Booster (stats don't matter as much as speed) and Rush Attack (where he can shut down a sniper instantly). In Bloody Battle, his family cleanse makes him a premium pick if paired with another Starfall hero.
Costume & Costume Bonus
Whacker currently does not have a costume.
Emblem Path Analysis
Whacker is a Barbarian.
The "All-In" Aggressor
- Path: Attack > Defense > Health
- Pros: Maximizes his only real asset: hitting hard. Bleed damage from Barbarian talents scales off attack (though it's weak on 3-stars).
- Cons: He remains made of paper.
The "Survivalist" (Not Recommended)
- Path: Defense > Health > Attack
- Pros: Might survive one extra slash attack.
- Cons: Dilutes his snipe damage to the point where he might not kill his target.
Final Recommendation
Go Full Attack. Whacker's job is to delete an enemy or cripple them before he dies. Trying to make him tanky is like trying to make a soup sandwichβit just doesn't work.
Strengths
- Massive Attack Debuff: -54% renders enemies harmless.
- Fast Speed: 8 tiles to fire is always good.
- Smart Targeting (Mostly): Automatically neuters the enemy with the highest attack stat.
- Family Cleanse: Passive cleansing is a cheat code in Bloody Battle.
Weaknesses
- Glass Jaw: 406 Base Defense is very, very low.
- Uncontrollable Debuff: You cannot manually target the Attack Down. If the highest attack enemy is already dead or not a threat, the secondary effect is wasted.
- No Passives: Lacks the modern "bells and whistles" of 2024/2025 heroes.
Best Game Modes
- 3-Star Tournaments (Bloody Battle): The passive cleanse (with family bonus) and fast speed are top-tier here.
- 3-Star Tournaments (Rush Attack): He can shut down enemy heavy hitters before they wipe your team.
- Events: His high attack stat makes him decent for tile damage if you lack modern alternatives.
Advanced Strategy & Team Compositions
Sample Team Ideas
- The Circus Act (Bloody Battle): Whacker - Candy - Bauchan - Whacker - Treevil. Pairing him with Candy activates the family bonus for passive cleansing.
- The Green Machine: Noril - Whacker - Faiez. Noril provides raw damage, Whacker snipes, Faiez keeps everyone alive.
Counters & Anti-Synergies
- Counter: Kvasir. Minions eat up his damage, and he has no way to deal with them.
- Counter: Gunnar. Whacker hits one target; Gunnar spreads that damage out, making Whacker's snipe feel like a tickle.
- Anti-Synergy: Other Attack Debuffers. Since Whacker overwrites attack debuffs, bringing another hero who does -34% attack is redundant and might even be detrimental if they overwrite Whacker's stronger -54%.
Advice for New Players
If you pull Whacker early, he is a great sniper. Level him up and put him on your attack team. He will carry you through early map stages and low-level raids. Just don't put him in the tank position (center) of your defense teamβhe will die instantly.
Advice for Veterans
Whacker is a niche tool for your 3-star tournament roster. If you have Gnome Master Ginger or Costumed Rudolph, Whacker might sit on the bench. However, keep him for Bloody Battle weeks where the Starfall family bonus is a unique advantage.
Community Corner: Hot Takes & History
The community has always had a soft spot for this weird goblin.
- One player famously asked, "Is it Shakira - waka waka?" regarding his name.
- Early reviews noted his "massive attack number" which was "the third or fourth highest" at the time.
- A common sentiment remains: "attack down is not one of the most powerful things... but if you just kill an enemy, who cares?"
Final Thoughts
Whacker is a relic from a simpler time, a clown who just wanted to smash things. While his stats have fallen behind the shiny new toys of 2026, his Nasty Hammer still packs a punch, and his -54% attack debuff is still one of the rudest things you can do to an enemy sniper. He's not a "must-have" anymore, but he's definitely a "glad-I-have-him-for-that-one-tournament" hero.
Verdict: Keep one for the Circus family bonus and Rush tournaments, but don't expect him to survive the main act without a bodyguard.
