Costumed Victor: The Don of Very Fast Defense Down

Overview

Costumed Victor (affectionately known as "C-Vic" or "The Don") transforms the classic vampire into a King of Crime. Released as part of the Morlovia expansion, this costume fundamentally changes his role from a defensive sniper to an aggressive, multi-target support engine. With Very Fast mana, he is designed to break defenses open before the enemy even moves. He is a Rogue, which fits his slippery, life-stealing mafia persona perfectly.

Hero Art & Visuals

Gone is the gothic castle; enter the noir underworld. Victor dons a sharp pinstripe suit, a fedora, and carries a cane that likely conceals a blade. The skull in his hand remains (some habits die hard), but the vibe shifts from Dracula to The Godfather. It’s one of the cooler thematic shifts in the game, turning a creature of the night into a boss of the underground.

Stat Analysis: Even with the Costume Bonus, Victor's stats (approx. 785 Atk / 701 Def / 1392 HP without Limit Break) are considered low in the modern meta. However, thanks to the massive stats available through Limit Break 2 (LB2) and Master Emblems, he can be pumped up to respectable levels (1200+ Atk/Def), allowing him to survive long enough to do his job. He relies on his Rogue class (dodge) and Healing Steal for survival rather than raw bulk.

Special Skill: Night of Sorrow (Costume)

Mana Speed
Very Fast
  • Deals 155% damage to the target and nearby enemies.
  • The target and nearby enemies receive 330 Surge Bleed over 5 turns. If a target already has this effect, the duration will be refreshed and the damage will be increased by 450, up to 1225 damage in total.
  • The caster steals 61% of any healing applied to the target and nearby enemies for 5 turns.
  • The target and nearby enemies get -24% defense for 5 turns.

Skill Analysis: This skill is a fantastic opener for any purple stack.

  1. Hit-3: Unlike the base version, C-Victor hits the target and nearby enemies. 155% isn't huge damage, but it softens them up.
  2. Surge Bleed: He applies a bleed DoT to three targets. It starts at ~330 over 5 turns but increases if refreshed. This pressure adds up quickly across three heroes.
  3. Defense Down: -24% Defense to 3 targets at Very Fast speed. This is the money maker. While -24% isn't the highest drop (compared to Tiburtus or Treevil), the speed is what matters. You can fire this in 6 tiles, paving the way for your slower, harder hitters to wipe the board.
  4. Healing Steal: He steals 61% of healing from 3 enemies. This cripples healer-heavy defenses, turning their sustain into his sustain.

By the Numbers

  • Mana Speed: Very Fast.
    • 6-Tile Breakpoint: With the Costume Bonus (approx +5% mana) and the Morlovia Family Bonus (+5%/+12%), it is incredibly easy to get C-Victor to charge in 6 tiles (2 matches of 3). This requires practically no high-level mana troops if you have family members.
  • Damage Output:
    • Hit: 155% x 3 targets.
    • DoT: 330 (Base) -> up to 1225 (Max Stack) across 3 targets.
    • Total: If he keeps firing, he spreads thousands of points of bleed damage while keeping defense down active.

Monthly Event - Morlovia

  • Bonus for 1/2/3 Unique Heroes:
  • +3%/+6%/+9% mana generation
  • The members of this family have additional perks in the Halloween event.

The Morlovia Family mana bonus is the key. Pairing him with just one other family member (like Francine or Vanda) accelerates your entire Very Fast core.

Inherent Abilities

Passive Skills

  • Steal Buff
When this character casts their Special Skill, they have a 65% chance to steal the newest dispellable buff from a random enemy that has buffs. If no enemy has buffs, deals 150% damage to all enemies.

Steal Buff: Just like the base version, C-Victor has a 65% chance to steal a dispellable buff from an enemy before hitting. Stealing a Taunt or Counterattack at Very Fast speed can completely disrupt the enemy's opening strategy.

Aether Power

Attack Up
Aether Power

Attack Up

At the start of each battle, this Hero gets 20% attack for 6 turns

In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Attack Up: At the start of battle, he gets an attack boost. This helps his initial hit and his DoT ticks, making him slightly more threatening right out of the gate.

Legacy & Modern Relevance

  • The Upgrade: When released, this costume revitalized Victor, moving him from a "has-been" to a "must-use" for rush strategies and fast offense.
  • Current Meta: In 2026, he faces stiff competition from newer heroes with higher stats and stronger effects. However, the combination of Very Fast + Defense Down + Heal Steal remains a potent niche. He is still a premier hero for 6-tile war teams.
  • Verdict: Costumed Victor remains highly viable for offense, particularly in 3-2 or 4-1 stacks where his role is to set the table for bigger hitters. He is less effective on defense due to his low stats.

Costume & Costume Bonus

Comparison:

  • Base: Defensive, Single Target, +Defense Buff.
  • Costume: Offensive, Multi-Target, -Defense Debuff.
  • Winner: Costume. The ability to impact three enemies with Defense Down and Healing Steal is exponentially more valuable than the single-target nature of the base form. The only reason to switch back is if you desperately need the team defense buff.

Emblem Path Analysis

Class: Rogue (Base was Wizard). The Rogue talent (Evade) is superior for Victor because he is squishy. Dodging special skills keeps him alive to steal more health.

The Don (Attack/Defense)

  • Path: Attack > Defense > Health
  • Pros: Maximizes DoT damage (which scales with Attack) and makes his special hit harder.
  • Cons: Still fragile if he doesn't dodge.

The Teflon Don (Defense/Health)

  • Path: Defense > Health > Attack
  • Pros: Maximizes survivability, relying on the -24% Def Down utility rather than his own damage.
  • Cons: Weaker bleeds.

Final Recommendation

Go Attack Path. His main threat (besides the Def Down) is the Bleed damage. You want that bleed to hurt. Rely on the Rogue dodge and Heal Steal to keep him alive.

Strengths

  • 6-Tile Engine: Can be charged with just two matches, applying pressure immediately.
  • Healer Nightmare: Stealing healing from 3 heroes effectively neutralizes enemy healers.
  • Setup Man: Softens targets for snipers like Kageburado or Seshat.
  • Stacking DoT: Punishes passive play by ramping up bleed damage.

Weaknesses

  • Low Stats: Even with costume, his base stats are dusty. He needs Limit Breaks to survive modern snipers.
  • Weak Def Down: -24% is on the lower end of defense down percentages (compared to the standard -34% or -44%).
  • Cleanse Vulnerability: A cleanser wipes out his entire kit (Bleed, Def Down, Heal Steal).

Best Game Modes

  • Alliance Wars: Excellent for attacking healer-heavy teams or "cleaning up" damaged teams.
  • Raid Offense: Great in a purple stack to break tanks quickly.
  • Buff Booster: Stealing buffs and firing fast makes him a menace.

Advanced Strategy & Team Compositions

Sample Team Ideas

  • The Very Fast Void: C-Victor - Clarissa - Kageburado.
    • Why: All charge in 6 tiles. Victor applies Def Down -> Clarissa applies DoT -> Kageburado executes.
  • The Undying: C-Victor - Freya - C-Rigard.
    • Why: Minions protect Victor, Rigard buffs attack, and Victor steals any healing the enemy tries to use to recover.

Counters & Anti-Synergies

  • Counters: Springvale Heroes (Killhare/Master Lepus) aren't counters per se, but heroes who block ailments (Garnet) stop him cold. Monks can resist his Def Down.
  • Anti-Synergies: Don't pair with stronger Defense Down heroes (like C-Tiburtus or Kunchen) if they fire after him, as they overwrite nicely. But if he fires after them, he will overwrite a strong Def Down (-44%) with his weak one (-24%). Be careful with firing order!

Advice for New Players

This costume turns a mediocre hero into a great one. Max him immediately. The Rogue emblems are definitely worth it for the dodge chance.

Advice for Veterans

If you have modern "Monster" heroes, C-Victor might feel light on damage. However, his utility in War Depth is unmatched. He is a safe pair of hands for your 3rd or 4th war team, guaranteeing a Defense Down option at Very Fast speed.

Community Corner: Hot Takes & History

  • "Clarissa+Victor+Sergei = devastation... I’ve been running the defence below in a standard config for about 5 days now." - Players finding synergy with other Very Fast purples.
  • "Is Costumed Victor worth Summoning For? Yes, absolutely." - The community poll reflected high praise upon release.
  • "He’s much faster than Tiburtus, too, even if the def down isn’t as high." - Acknowledging the trade-off between speed and potency.

Final Thoughts

Costumed Victor is the mob boss who brings a gun to a knife fightβ€”and shoots before anyone else has drawn their weapon. While he may not hit as hard as the new gods of 2026, his speed and utility make him timeless. There is always room on a roster for a guy who can break defenses and steal health in just 6 tiles.

Verdict: A classic utility hero who ages gracefully thanks to his mechanics. A must-have for depth, even if he's no longer the king of the hill.
