What Are Legendary Troops in Empires & Puzzles?
Legendary troops are the highest rarity (5★) troops in Empires and Puzzles, introduced in Version 63 (January 2024). They represent the pinnacle of troop power and feature a unique class synergy system that gives bonus stats when paired with heroes of the matching class.
Each legendary troop has a primary class and a secondary class. When equipped on a hero whose class matches the primary or secondary class, additional stat bonuses activate. There are 10 different class combinations per element (50 in Set 1, 50 in Set 2 — 100 total legendary troops in the game).
Beyond class bonuses, every legendary troop also has a unique passive skill that provides permanent effects like increased special damage, reduced status ailment damage, extra healing, critical chance bonus, or resistance to debuffs. These passives make legendary troops a significant upgrade over epic troops.
Class Synergy — Primary & Secondary Bonuses
The class synergy system is what makes legendary troops truly special. When you equip a legendary troop on a hero whose class matches the troop's primary class, you gain significant bonus stats to attack, defense, and health. The secondary class also provides bonuses, typically at lower values.
The 10 hero classes in E&P are: Wizard, Ranger, Paladin, Druid, Barbarian, Monk, Sorcerer, Rogue, Fighter, and Cleric. Each legendary troop pairs two of these classes. For example, a Wizard/Ranger troop would give its best bonuses to Wizard heroes, secondary bonuses to Ranger heroes, and base stats only to all other classes.
This means optimizing your legendary troop usage requires matching troops to heroes by both element and class. The troop grid above lets you browse all legendary troops — click any troop to see its exact class pairing, passive skill, and stat growth at every level.
Legendary Troop Passive Skills
Every legendary troop comes with one of 10 possible passive skills:

- •Special Damage Reduction — -8% special damage taken
- •Status Ailment Damage Reduction — -10% damage from ailments
- •Extra Healing — +5% health recovery per turn
- •Resist Status Ailments — 10% chance to resist debuffs

How to Get Legendary Troops
Legendary troops can be obtained in two ways:
1. Legendary Troop Summon — A dedicated summon portal that appears every ~2 weeks. Costs 300 gems per summon (or 2600 for 10x) or Legendary Troop Tokens. The summon rates are: 83% Rare (3★), 14% Epic (4★), and 3% Legendary (5★).
2. Epic Troop Conversion — In the Barracks, you can convert a max-level Epic (4★) troop into a Legendary troop. This costs Iron and Class Emblems matching the legendary troop's primary class. There is a 28-day cooldown between conversions. The resulting legendary troop will be the same element as the epic troop used.
Conversion is the most reliable path to specific legendary troops, as summoning is completely random. Most experienced players convert their duplicate crit or mana troops once they have leveled replacements.
